AFC Wimbledon 1 – Wycombe 1: Victory elusive at Plough Lane for both sides

On Monday, AFC Wimbledon and Wycombe were held to a 1-1 draw at Plough Lane. AFC Wimbledon were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Crewe Alexandra. Wycombe were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-0 win against Plymouth Argyle in their last match. As it stands, AFC Wimbledon and Wycombe currently occupy 22nd and 5th spots in the table, with 36 points and 77 points respectively after 44 matches.

AFC Wimbledon started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with a goal from Jack Rudoni at the 21 minute mark. The score at half time was 1-0.

Wycombe took the initiative in the second half, thanks to Adebayo Akinfenwa finding the net after 80 minutes. The final result, AFC Wimbledon 1, Wycombe 1.

Both teams used all available substitutes. For AFC Wimbledon, Ethan Chislett, Derick Osei Yaw and Henry Lawrence, came on for Luke McCormick, Sam Cosgrove and Alex Woodyard, Wycombe brought on Adebayo Akinfenwa, Anthony Stewart and Sullay Kaikai, to replace Daryl Horgan, Brandon Hanlan and Jason McCarthy.

There were bookings for George Marsh and Lee Brown from AFC Wimbledon. For Wycombe, Ryan Tafazolli and Josh Scowen saw yellow.

AFC Wimbledon will next play Fleetwood Town away, with Wycombe facing Sheffield Wednesday at home.
