AFC Wimbledon 1 – Charlton Athletic 1: Honours even and points shared at Plough Lane

On Tuesday, AFC Wimbledon and Charlton Athletic were held to a 1-1 draw at Plough Lane. Both teams came from defeats in their previous league games. AFC Wimbledon were hoping to get something from this game after losing 2-1 to Sheffield Wednesday in their previous fixture. Charlton Athletic were beaten 2-1 in the previous match against Lincoln City. As it stands, AFC Wimbledon are in 22nd place, with 34 points from 24 matches, while Charlton Athletic sit in 15th, with 50 points from 24.

After an un-eventful first half, Charlton Athletic fought back the second half, thanks to Jayden Stockley giving Charlton Athletic the lead, at 69 minutes. In the end though, their lead was short lived, as Zach Robinson equalised for AFC Wimbledon just before the final whistle and seeing the game end 1-1.

Both coaches used the full entitlement. For AFC Wimbledon, Nesta Guinness-Walker, Dapo Mebude and Ethan Chislett, came on for Daniel Csoka, Paul Osew and Henry Lawrence, Charlton Athletic replaced Ryan Inniss, Akin Famewo and Corey Blackett-Taylor with Samuel Lavelle, Jake Forster-Caskey and Diallang Jaiyesimi.

AFC Wimbledon will play their next fixture at home against Milton Keynes Dons, while Charlton Athletic will face Rotherham United away.
