Accrington Stanley 2 – Lincoln City 1: Visitors to The Crown Ground leave with nothing

Accrington Stanley eased past Lincoln City in a 2-1 victory on Saturday at The Crown Ground. Accrington Stanley were hoping to get something from this game after losing 3-1 to Bolton Wanderers in their last match. Lincoln City, on the other hand, were able to continue their winning streak after a 3-0 win against Cheltenham Town in their last match. As the table looks today, Accrington Stanley and Lincoln City currently occupy 13th and 18th spots in the league, with 58 points and 49 points respectively after 45 matches.

Accrington Stanley started strongly in the first half, with Adam Jackson giving Accrington Stanley the lead in the 34th minute. They then managed to see out the first half 1-0.

Accrington Stanley continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Colby Bishop finding the net in the 59th minute. Lincoln City in turn, then responded just before the final whistle increasing their lead with an effort from Lewis Fiorini. The game ended with a 2-1 victory for Accrington Stanley.

For Accrington Stanley, Liam Isherwood and John O’Sullivan, came on for Jack Nolan and Tommy Leigh. Lincoln City brought on Teddy Bishop, Anthony Scully and John Marquis, to replace Conor McGrandles, Ben House and Teddy Bishop.

The referee booked Morgan Whittaker, John Marquis and Lewis Fiorini for Lincoln City and Toby Savin saw the red card, for Accrington Stanley.

Accrington Stanley will next travel to AFC Wimbledon, while Lincoln City will face Crewe Alexandra at home.
