Union Berlin 1-0 Malmö: The Iron Ones take all 3 points

Malmö on away loss to Union Berlin at the An der Alten Försterei Stadium on Thursday. Union Berlin were looking to pick up points after winning last match whilst Malmö had lost their previous match against Union Berlin. Union Berlin are now in 3rd place on the table and have 6 points while Malmö sit in 4th with 0 points after 4 matches.

Following a goalless first half, The Iron Ones piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Robin Knoche gave them the lead just before the final whistle. The match ended 1-0 to Union Berlin.

Substitutions for Union Berlin included Sven Michel, Morten Thorsby, Kevin Behrens and Niko Giesselmann for Jordan Siebatcheu, Genki Haraguchi, Janik Haberer and Sheraldo Becker, respectively. Malmö brought on Erdal Rakip, Emmanuel Lomotey and Jonas Knudsen, to replace Jo Inge Berget, Oscar Lewicki and Martin Olsson.

The referee booked Janik Haberer, Christopher Trimmel, Robin Knoche, Rani Khedira and Morten Thorsby from Union Berlin. Malmö had the worst of it though, with Isaac Thelin, Sergio Pena, Martin Olsson, Jonas Knudsen, Anders Christiansen and Emmanuel Lomotey seeing yellow, and Emmanuel Lomotey then sent off with a red.

Union Berlin next face Sporting Braga while Malmö are at home to Union Saint-Gilloise.
