Manchester United strolled past Sheriff Tiraspol with a 2-0 win on Thursday at Zimbru. Sheriff were looking to pick up points after winning last match while Man U had lost their previous match against Real Sociedad. both teams are now on 3 points and sit in 1st and 2nd places respectively after 2 matches.

The Red Devils started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Jadon Sancho gave them the lead, 17 minutes in. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a goal from Cristiano Ronaldo, 39 minutes in to see out the first half 2-0. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 2-0 at full time.

Substitutions for Sheriff included Felipe Vizeu, Pernambuco and Mudasiru Salifu for Rasheed Ibrahim Akanbi, Abou Ouattara and Iyayi Atiemwen, respectively. Man U brought on Casemiro, Luke Shaw, Anthony Elanga, Alejandro Garnacho and Harry Maguire, to replace Scott Mctominay, Diogo Dalot, Cristiano Ronaldo, Antony and Lisandro Martinez.

The referee booked Patrick Kpozo and Iyayi Atiemwen for Sheriff.

Sheriff will next play Real Sociedad at home, with Man U facing Omonia Nicosia away.
