Ludogorets 2 – Roma 1: Visitors to Huvepharma Arena leave with nothing

Razgrad Ludogorets’ Ante Simundza saw his side to victory at Huvepharma Arena. Today’s result, Ludogorets are now in 2nd place, with 3 points from 1 match, while Roma sit in 3rd, with 0 points from 1.

After an uneventful first half, Ludogorets piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Cauly gave them the lead in the 72nd minute. However, their lead didn’t last for long, Eldor Shomurodov producing an equaliser, 86 minutes in, bringing Giallorossi level. In the end though, Ludogorets took the victory following a Nonato goal just before the full time, which sealed the victory for Ludogorets.

Substitutions for Ludogorets included Rick Lima, Nonato, Spas Delev and Georgi Terziev for Kiril Despodov, Show, Cauly and Aslak Witry, respectively. Roma brought on Eldor Shomurodov, Leonardo Spinazzola, Cristian Volpato, Edoardo Bove and Mady Camara for Andrea Belotti, Zeki Celik, Gianluca Mancini, Bryan Cristante and Nemanja Matic.

The referee booked Show, Anton Nedyalkov and Jakub Piotrowski for Ludogorets.

In the second round of action in the Europa League Group Stage Ludogorets will travel to play Real Betis and Roma will play Helsinki at home.
