Lazio 2-2 Sturm Graz: Lazio fail to shake off visitors at Stadio Olimpico

Lazio were helde ach other to a 2-2 draw by Sturm Graz on Thursday at Stadio Olimpico. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were each keen to pick up points. Lazio were on the hunt for more points after a scoreless draw against SK Sturm Graz in their previous match. Sturm Graz had secured a point against Lazio in their previous match. both teams are now on 5 points and occupy 3rd and 4th places respectively after 4 matches.

Lazio started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to a goal from Ciro Immobile just before half-time

Sturm Graz took the initiative in the second half, with a goal from William Boving Vick in the 56th minute. However, each side looked hungry to win and The White and Sky Blues then found the back of the net in the 71st minute thanks to Pedro, taking the score to 2-1. In the end though, their lead was short-lived, as William Boving Vick equalised for Sturm Graz, 83 minutes in. The match ended 2-2.

Substitutions for Lazio included Adam Marusic, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Matias Vecino, Felipe Anderson and Matteo Cancellieri for Mattia Zaccagni, Toma Basic, Danilo Cataldi, Luis Alberto and Ciro Immobile, respectively. Sturm Graz brought on William Boving Vick, Tomi Horvat, Ivan Ljubic, Manprit Sarkaria and Jakob Jantscher, to replace Emanuel Emegha, Otar Kiteishvili, Jon Gorenc-Stankovic, Stefan Hierlander and Albian Ajeti.

The referee booked Manuel Lazzari and Ciro Immobile from Lazio and Manuel Lazzari (2 yellow cards) went off with a red card, while Sturm Graz’s Sandro Ingolitsch, Otar Kiteishvili, David Affengruber, Jon Gorenc-Stankovic, Alexander Prass, Ivan Ljubic and Gregory Wuthrich also received a yellow.

Sturm Graz and Lazio will next play at home to Feyenoord Rotterdam and FC Midtjylland respectively.
