Feyenoord Rotterdam defeated Lazio 1-0 on Thursday at De Kuip. Feyenoord were looking to get back to winning ways after losing 1-0 to SK Sturm Graz in their last match. Lazio, meanwhile, were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-1 win against FC Midtjylland in their last match. Following the final whistle at the end of the last match of the Europa League Group Stage season for both sides, Feyenoord and Lazio sit 4th (5 points) and 2nd (8 points) in the league respectively, after a total of 6 matches.

After a goalless first half, Feyenoord applied pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Santiago Gimenez found the net, at 64 minutes, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Substitutions for Feyenoord included Quilindschy Hartman, Santiago Gimenez, Patrik Walemark and Mats Wieffer for Marcos Lopez, Danilo, Igor Paixao and Quinten Timber, respectively. Lazio brought on Adam Marusic, Pedro, Danilo Cataldi, Matias Vecino and Luka Romero, to replace Manuel Lazzari, Mattia Zaccagni, Marcos Antonio, Toma Basic and Matteo Cancellieri.

The referee booked Quinten Timber and Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord. Lazio had the worst of it though, with Manuel Lazzari, Mattia Zaccagni, Pedro, Matteo Cancellieri, Patric, Adam Marusic, Ivan Provedel and Luka Romero seeing yellow, and Luka Romero (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.
