Feyenoord 2-2 Midtjylland: Sviatchenko equaliser denies Feyenoord

Feyenoord were helde ach other to a 2-2 draw by Midtjylland on Thursday at De Kuip. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were each keen to pick up points. Feyenoord were looking for a victory after a 2-2 draw against FC Midtjylland. Midtjylland had to settle for a draw 2-2 against Feyenoord Rotterdam. both teams are now on 5 points and occupy 1st and 2nd places respectively after 4 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Midtjylland, when Emiliano Martinez found the net in the 16th minute. However, their lead was short-lived, as Quinten Timber equalised for Feyenoord in the 32nd minute, finishing the first half 1-1.

Feyenoord started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with an early goal from David Hancko in the 48th minute. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Erik Sviatchenko equalised for Midtjylland in the 58th minute, leaving the final score at 2-2.

Substitutions for Feyenoord included Patrik Walemark, Javairo Dilrosun and Danilo for Alireza Jahanbakhsh, Quinten Timber and Santiago Gimenez, respectively. Midtjylland brought on Juninho, Sory Kaba, Charles, Oliver Sorensen and Edward Chilufya, to replace Henrik Dalsgaard, Pione Sisto, Emiliano Martinez, Anders Dreyer and Evander.

There were bookings for Lutsharel Geertruida, Orkun Kokcu and Patrik Walemark from Feyenoord, and Emiliano Martinez, Kristoffer Olsson and Jonas Lossl, for Midtjylland.

Next up, Feyenoord are away to SK Sturm Graz, whilst Midtjylland will travel to face Lazio.
