Fenerbahçe 3 – Rennes 3: Sukru Saracoglu Stadium sees frustrating draw
On Thursday, Fenerbahçe and Rennes played out a 3-3 draw at Sukru Saracoglu Stadium. Both sides arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Fenerbahçe were looking to continue their good run after winning their previous two matches in the competition. The most recent was against the AEK Larnaca away (2-1), the other to AEK Larnaca at home (2-0). The momentum was again with Rennes, who then scored again courtesy of a second effort from Amine Gouiri, 30 minutes in to establish a 3-0 result. Fenerbahçe in turn, then responded just before half-time, grabbing the lead with an effort from Enner Valencia and saw the first half out 3-1.
Fenerbahçe took the lead in the second half, when Miha Zajc found the net after 82 minutes. Fenerbahçe then scored once more and found an equaliser thanks to a goal from Emre Mor just before the full time to give a final score of 3-3.
Substitutions for Fenerbahçe included Ezgjan Alioski, Emre Mor, Michy Batshuayi, Miha Zajc and Arda Guler for Gustavo Henrique, Irfan Kahveci, Joao Pedro, Willian Arao and Lincoln, respectively.
