Midtjylland 5 – Lazio 1: Heavy loss for The White and Sky Blues at the McH Arena

FC Midtjylland beat Lazio with a 5-1 victory on Thursday at the McH Arena. Midtjylland were looking forward to playing again after losing 1-0 to SK Sturm Graz in their previous fixture. Lazio were able to continue their winning streak after a 4-2 win against Feyenoord Rotterdam in their last match. both teams are now on 3 points and sit in 2nd and 3rd places respectively after 2 matches.

Midtjylland started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Paulinho opened the rout in the 26th minute. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a goal from Sory Kaba, at 30 minutes, finishing the first half 2-0.

Midtjylland started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, when Evander found the net, 52 minutes in. However, The White and Sky Blues refused to lie down and managed to pull back a goal from Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the 57th minute. However, Midtjylland increased their lead 4-1 thanks to a goal from Gustav Isaksen, at 67 minutes. Midtjylland then scored again and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Erik Sviatchenko on the 72 minute mark to make it 5-1.

Substitutions for Midtjylland included Charles, Pione Sisto, Edward Chilufya and Valdemar Byskov Andreasen for Emiliano Martinez, Anders Dreyer, Gustav Isaksen and Sory Kaba, respectively. Lazio replaced Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Matteo Cancellieri, Adam Marusic, Marcos Antonio and Luka Romero with Matias Vecino, Pedro, Stefan Radu, Danilo Cataldi and Ciro Immobile.

There were bookings for Paulinho and Jonas Lossl from Midtjylland, and Alessio Romagnoli, for Lazio.

Midtjylland will play their next fixture at home against Feyenoord Rotterdam, while Lazio will face SK Sturm Graz away.
