Wigan Athletic 1-0 Blackburn: Rovers miss the mark against the Latics

Wigan Athletic banked all three points against the Blackburn Rovers in a narrow 1-0 victory on Tuesday, at Dw Stadium. Wigan Athletic arrived at the match looking to pick up more points after losing 3-1 to Cardiff City in their last match. Blackburn, meanwhile, had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 3-0 victory against Rotherham United. Wigan Athletic are now in 9th place, with 19 points from 9 matches, while Blackburn sit in 7th, with 21 points from 9.

After an uneventful first half, Wigan Athletic piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Nathan Broadhead gave them the lead, 62 minutes in. The match ended 1-0 to Wigan Athletic.
