West Brom 0-2 Sheffield Utd: The Blades win big duel at The Hawthorns

Sheffield United enjoyed an away victory against West Brom at The Hawthorns on Saturday. West Brom were looking to get back to winning ways after losing their last match 2-1 to Millwall. Sheffield U had secured a point against Norwich City in their previous match. West Brom and Sheffield U sit 23rd, (14 points) and 4th, (29 points), in the table respectively, after 18 matches.

The Blades started the first half well, when Iliman Ndiaye gave them the lead, 11 minutes in. Sheffield U then netted once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Oliver McBurnie in the 23rd minute, to take a 2-0 lead into half time. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 2-0 at full time.

Substitutions for West Brom included John Swift, Jayson Molumby, Adam Reach and Brandon Thomas-Asante for Jake Livermore, Jed Wallace, Conor Townsend and Taylor Gardner-Hickman, respectively. Sheffield U brought on Rhian Brewster, Jack Robinson, Billy Sharp and Enda Stevens, to replace John Fleck, George Baldock, Rhian Brewster and Chris Basham.

The referee booked one player from Sheffield U, Anel Ahmedhodzic.

West Brom will play their next fixture at home against Blackpool, while Sheffield U will face Bristol City away.
