Watford 2-1 Norwich: The Hornets jubilant as Norwich slump continues

Watford’s 2-1 win over Norwich City on Saturday, was hard fought at Vicarage Road. Both teams arrived at the match with previous defeats in the league. Watford were looking forward to playing again after losing their last match 3-1 to Blackpool while Norwich had lost their previous match against Preston North End. Watford and Norwich are 10th, (20 points) and 3rd, (24 points), in the table respectively, after 15 matches.

Watford started strongly in the first half, when Imran Louza gave them the lead on the 18 minute mark. The Hornets looked to have the match under control when they scored again to grab the advantage, thanks to a goal from Keinan Davis, 31 minutes in to establish a 2-0. However, Norwich hit back though via a Josh Sargent goal just before half-time, concluding the first half 2-1. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 2-1 at full time.

Substitutions for Watford included Joao Pedro, Edo Kayembe and Samuel Kalu for Yaser Asprilla, Keinan Davis and Ismaila Sarr, respectively. Norwich brought on Isaac Hayden, Gabriel, Onel Hernandez, Todd Cantwell and Aaron Ramsey, to replace Liam Gibbs, Marcelino Nunez, Kieran Dowell, Max Aarons and Andrew Omobamidele.

There were bookings for Hassane Kamara from Watford, and Max Aarons, for Norwich.

Watford will next travel to Millwall, while Norwich will face Luton Town at home.
