Swansea 0-1 Sheffield Utd: Home defeat for The Swans as The Blades take points

Swansea City fell to a home defeat at the hands of Sheffield United at Liberty Stadium on Tuesday. Both Swansea and Sheffield U arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Swansea were looking to pick up points, following a 1-0 victory against Queens Park Rangers. Sheffield U were hoping to continue their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Hull City and Reading. Swansea and Sheffield U currently occupy 21st and 1st spots in the league, with 9 points and 20 points respectively after 10 matches.

After a goalless first half, Sheffield U continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Reda Khadra just before the final whistle, seing the match finish 1-0.

Both teams used all available substitutes. Substitutions for Swansea included Jamie Paterson, Olivier Ntcham and Fin Stevens for Oliver Cooper, Jay Fulton and Matthew Sorinola, respectively, Sheffield U brought on James John McAtee, Rhian Brewster and Reda Khadra to replace Thomas Doyle, Oliver McBurnie and Iliman Ndiaye.

There were bookings for Matt Grimes from Swansea, and Anel Ahmedhodzic, for Sheffield U.

Swansea will next play Hull City at home, with Sheffield U facing Preston North End away.
