Swansea 1 – Fulham 5: The Cottagers deliver emphatic win, at Liberty Stadium

Fulham cruises against Swansea City on an away win at Liberty Stadium on Tuesday. Both Swansea and Fulham arrived on the back of wins. Swansea had been hopeful of continuing their run after winning their previous two games against Coventry City at home and West Bromwich Albion away, by 3-1 and 2-0 respectively while Fulham were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Blackburn Rovers and Cardiff City. After today’s result, Swansea are currently 16th with 44 points from 26 matches, while Fulham sit in 1st, with 76 points from 26.

It was an impressive opening from The Cottagers, with Aleksandar Mitrovic opening the rout just before half-time, finishing the first half 0-1.

Fulham started the second half with an intensified spirit, with Ben Cabango finding the net at the 52 minute mark. The momentum was now with The Cottagers, who then scored again through a goal from Bobby Reid at the 73 minute mark to establish a 3-0. However, Swansea weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Joel Piroe at the 75 minute mark. However, Fulham increased their advantage 4-1 thanks to a goal from Neco Williams at the 77 minute mark. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a 2nd effort from Neco Williams just before the final whistle to make it 5-1.

Both coaches used all available substitutions. For Swansea, Ryan Bennett, Jay Fulton and Kyle Joseph, came on for Olivier Ntcham, Flynn Downes and Michael Obafemi, Fulham brought on Bobby Reid, Ivan Cavaleiro and Tom Cairney to replace Neeskens Kebano, Fabio Carvalho and Jean Seri.

Ryan Manning saw the red card, for Swansea.

Next up, Swansea are away to Blackpool, whilst Fulham will travel to face Barnsley.
