Swansea 1 – Barnsley 1: Points shared at Liberty Stadium after draw

On Friday, Swansea and Barnsley were held to a 1-1 draw at Liberty Stadium. Swansea were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games in the competition. The most recent was against the Derby County at home (2-1), the other to Millwall away (1-0). Barnsley, on the other hand, lost 4-1 in the last match they played against Millwall. As it stands, Swansea and Barnsley currently occupy 14th and 23rd spots in the league, with 58 points and 30 points respectively after 42 matches.
After a goalless first half, Whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on Barnsley who started the second half well, thanks to Claudio Gomes finding the net at the 54 minute mark. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Olivier Ntcham equalised for Swansea at the 64 minute mark, leaving the final score at 1-1.
For Swansea, Olivier Ntcham, Ryan Manning and Cameron Congreve, came on for Jay Fulton, Joel Latibeaudiere and Jamie Paterson. Barnsley brought on Callum Styles, to replace Romal Palmer.
There were bookings for Matt Grimes from Swansea. For Barnsley, Matty Wolfe, Romal Palmer and Carlton Morris saw yellow.
Swansea will play away against Reading, while Barnsley will face Peterborough United at home.
