Stoke 1 – Sheffield U 0: The Potters deliver decisive win at Bet365 Stadium

Stoke enjoyed a mesmerising home victory against Sheffield United at Bet365 Stadium on Saturday. Both sides arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Stoke were looking to pick up points, following a 2-0 victory against Millwall. Sheffield U were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-0 win against Barnsley in their last match. At the moment, Stoke are in 13th place, with 52 points from 40 matches, while Sheffield U sit in 7th, with 61 points from 40.
After a goalless first half, The Potters piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from John Egan at the 77 minute mark and seeing the game end 1-0.
Both coaches used all available substitutions. For Stoke, Romaine Sawyers, Tyrese Campbell and Steven Fletcher, came on for Mario Vrancic, D’Margio Wright-Phillips and Josh Maja, Sheffield U brought on Iliman Ndiaye, Ben Osborn and William Osula, to replace Oliver Norwood, Morgan Gibbs-White and Daniel Jebbison.
Stoke will next play West Bromwich Albion away, with Sheffield U facing Bournemouth at home.
