Stoke 2 – Millwall 0: Visitors to Bet365 Stadium leave with nothing

Stoke City’s 2-0 win over Millwall on Saturday, was hard fought at Bet365 Stadium. Stoke were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Cardiff City. Millwall were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-0 win against Huddersfield Town in their last match. As things stand, Stoke are in 15th place on the table and has 49 points while Millwall sit in 10th with 57 points after 39 matches.
It was an impressive opening from The Potters, thanks to Jacob Brown giving Stoke the lead at the 19 minute mark to see out the first half 1-0.
Stoke continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from George Saville, 70 minutes in and seeing the game end 2-0.
Both coaches used the full entitlement. For Stoke, Jordan Thompson, Tyrese Campbell and Steven Fletcher, came on for Mario Vrancic, D’Margio Wright-Phillips and Josh Maja, Millwall brought on Tom Bradshaw, Maikel Kieftenbeld and Sheyi Ojo, to replace Scott Malone, Tyler Burey and Mason Bennett.
There were bookings for Josh Tymon, Jacob Brown and Jordan Thompson from Stoke. For Millwall, Danny Ballard saw yellow.
Stoke will next play Sheffield United at home, with Millwall facing Luton Town away.
