Sheffield Utd 4-0 Reading: The Blades extended unbeaten streak with big win

Sheffield United beated Reading 4-0 on Tuesday at Bramall Lane. Sheffield U arrived with the intention of increasing their league score after a 1-1 draw against Luton Town while Reading were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Millwall and Middlesbrough. As the table looks today, Sheffield U are currently 1st with 14 points from 7 matches, while Reading sit in 3rd, with 12 points from 7.

The Blades started strongly in the first half, when Oliver McBurnie opened the rout, 11 minutes in. However they weren’t finished yet and Anel Ahmedhodzic made it 2-0 just before halftime and saw the first half out 2-0.

Sheffield U continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Iliman Ndiaye found the net, at 62 minutes. Sheffield U then scored once more and increased their lead thanks to a second effort from Anel Ahmedhodzic, 80 minutes in to make it 4-0.

Both managers used all available substitutions. Substitutions for Sheffield U included Reda Khadra, Rhian Brewster, Chris Basham and James John McAtee for Iliman Ndiaye, Oliver McBurnie, George Baldock and Thomas Doyle, repectively, Reading brought on Tyrese Fornah and Shane Long to replace Naby Sarr and Lucas Joao.

Sheffield U will next travel to Hull City, while Reading will face Stoke City at home.
