Sheffield U 1 – Blackburn 0: The Blades triumph over Rovers at Bramall Lane

Sheffield United eased past Blackburn Rovers in a 1-0 victory on Wednesday at Bramall Lane. Sheffield U were looking to pick up points after winning last match. Blackburn, on the other hand, secured a point against West Bromwich Albion in their previous match. After today’s result, Sheffield U are currently 6th with 53 points from 34 matches, while Blackburn sit in 5th, with 54 points from 34.

Following a goalless first half, Sheffield U applied pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Ben Davies just before the final whistle and seeing the game end 1-0.

For Sheffield U, Oliver McBurnie and Ben Davies, came on for Billy Sharp and Morgan Gibbs-White. Blackburn brought on Tyrhys Dolan for Ryan Nyambe.

The referee booked six players. John Egan, Morgan Gibbs-White and Sander Berge from Sheffield U, who saw yellow cards and Charlie Goode, sent off with a red, as well as for Blackburn Joe Rothwell and Lewis Travis received yellows.

Sheffield U will next travel to Millwall, while Blackburn will face Queens Park Rangers at home.
