Sheffield U 2 – Barnsley 0: Job done for The Blades at home to The Tykes

Sheffield U enjoyed a mesmerising home victory against Barnsley at Bramall Lane on Saturday. Sheffield U wanted to continue adding points following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Blackpool in their previous game. Barnsley, on the other hand, had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 2-0 victory against Bristol City. As the table looks today, Sheffield U are in 4th place on the table and has 61 points while Barnsley sit in 22nd with 28 points after 39 matches.
After an un-eventful first half, Sheffield U certainly were out of the blocks quickly in the second half, with a goal from Sander Berge in the 54th minute. The Blades then scored once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Morgan Gibbs-White, 76 minutes in to make it 2-0.
Sheffield U brought on Daniel Jebbison, Oliver McBurnie and John Fleck for Billy Sharp, Sander Berge and Morgan Gibbs-White. Barnsley brought on Aaron Leya Iseka, Romal Palmer and Devante Cole, to replace Callum Styles, Matty Wolfe and Claudio Gomes.
There were bookings for Kyron Gordon from Sheffield U, and Callum Brittain, for Barnsley.
Sheffield U will next travel to Stoke City, while Barnsley will face Reading at home.
