Rotherham 1-1 Watford: Honours even as Millers keep the Hornets at bay

Rotherham were helde ach other to a 1-1 draw by Watford on Saturday at the AESSEAL New York Stadium. Rotherham were looking forward to playing again, following defeat to Sunderland AFC. Watford were looking to extend their winning run after a 2-1 victory against Middlesbrough. Rotherham are now in 12th place on the table and have 10 points while Watford sit in 5th with 13 points after 8 matches.

Rotherham dominated the first half, with an early goal from Richard Wood in the 2nd minute. However, their lead was short-lived, as Vakoun Issouf Bayo equalised for Watford, 33 minutes in, to take a 1-1 lead into half time. Both teams struggled to produce anything in the second half and the match ended 1-1.

Substitutions for Rotherham included Scott High, Tom Eaves, Jamie Lindsay, Shane Ferguson and Jamie McCart for Daniel Barlaser, Conor Washington, Ben Wiles, Oliver Rathbone and Wes Harding, respectively. Watford brought on Mario Gaspar, Keinan Davis and Joseph Hungbo, to replace Hassane Kamara, Yaser Asprilla and Ken Sema.

There were bookings for Wes Harding, Lee Peltier and Ben Wiles from Rotherham. For Watford, Yaser Asprilla and Edo Kayembe saw yellow.

Rotherham will next travel to Sheffield United, while Watford will face Reading at home.
