Rotherham United’s 2-1 win over Huddersfield Town on Saturday, was hard fought at the AESSEAL New York Stadium. Rotherham were hoping to get something from this game after losing their last match 3-0 to Blackburn Rovers. Huddersfield, meanwhile, were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-0 win against Hull City in their last match. Rotherham and Huddersfield currently occupy 11th and 23rd spots in the league, with 18 points and 11 points respectively after 15 matches.

The Millers dominated the first half, with a goal from Conor Washington, 16 minutes in. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Danny Ward equalised for Huddersfield, 30 minutes in, to take a 1-1 lead into half time.

Rotherham continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, when Georgie Kelly found the net, 61 minutes in. When the final whistle blew, the result was 2-1 to Rotherham.

Substitutions for Rotherham included Georgie Kelly, Cohen Bramall, Cameron Humphreys and Hakeem Odofin for Tom Eaves, Shane Ferguson, Lee Peltier and Conor Washington, respectively. Huddersfield brought on Jack Rudoni, Aaron Rowe and Charles Ondo, to replace Danny Ward, Ben Jackson and David Kasumu.

There were bookings for Oliver Rathbone, Wes Harding and Hakeem Odofin from Rotherham, and Duane Holmes and Yuta Nakayama, for Huddersfield.

Rotherham will next play Stoke City away, with Huddersfield facing Preston North End at home.
