Rotherham 2-0 Birmingham: Millers remain undefated with victory over the Blues

Rotherham United beated Birmingham City 2-0 on Saturday at the AESSEAL New York Stadium. Rotherham wanted to continue adding points after a 1-1 draw against Queens Park Rangers. Birmingham lost 1-0 in the last match they played against Wigan Athletic. Following today’s result, Rotherham are in 16th place, with 6 points from 6 matches, while Birmingham sit in 21st, with 5 points from 6.

The Millers took the lead, thanks to a goal from Richard Wood, at 28 minutes, finishing the first half 1-0.

Rotherham continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Richard Wood found the net again, 71 minutes in and saw the match end 2-0.

Substitutions for Rotherham included Wes Harding, Shane Ferguson, Tom Eaves and Scott High for Cameron Humphreys, Cohen Bramall, Conor Washington and Oliver Rathbone, repectively. Birmingham brought on Jordan Graham, Sam Cosgrove, Ryan Stirk, Gary Gardner and Jobe Bellingham for Maxime Colin, Troy Deeney, Jordan James, George Hall and Juninho Bacuna.

There were bookings for Oliver Rathbone from Rotherham. For Birmingham, Troy Deeney and Jordan James saw yellow.

Rotherham will next travel to Sunderland AFC, while Birmingham will face Norwich City at home.
