Reading 2-1 Stoke: The Royals bounce back to beat the Potters

Reading beat Stoke City with a 2-1 victory on Sunday at the Madejski Stadium. Reading were hoping to get something from this game after losing their last match 4-0 to Sheffield United. Stoke, meanwhile, had managed to pick up a point in their matchup with Swansea City. Reading and Stoke currently occupy 2nd and 19th spots in the league, with 15 points and 8 points respectively after 8 matches.
The Royals started the first half well, with an early goal from Lucas Joao in the 2nd minute. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Ben Wilmot equalised for Stoke just before half-time, which saw the first half end 1-1.
Reading rallied after this and were rewarded, when Lucas Joao found the net once more, 57 minutes in. The final result, Reading 2, Stoke 1.
Substitutions for Reading included Rahman Baba, Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan and Nesta Guinness-Walker for Junior Hoilett, Shane Long and Tyrese Fornah, respectively. Stoke brought on Nick Powell, Jordan Thompson, Connor Taylor and D’Margio Wright-Phillips, to replace Tarique Fosu, Sam Clucas, Liam Delap and William Smallbone.
The referee booked Sam Hutchinson and Joe Lumley for Reading.
Reading will next travel to Watford, while Stoke will face Luton Town at home.
