Reading 1-0 Middlesbrough: Fornah crowns good Reading performance with winning goal

Reading strolled past Middlesbrough with a 1-0 win on Saturday at the Madejski Stadium. Reading were looking to continue their run after winning last match while Boro had managed to pick up a single point in their matchup with Stoke City. After today’s result, Reading are in 3rd place, with 9 points from 5 matches, while Boro sit in 23rd, with 3 points from 5.

Reading started the match well, when Tyrese Fornah gave The Royals the lead at the 28 minute mark, concluding the first half 1-0. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Reading brought on Lucas Joao and John Clarke for Shane Long and Sam Hutchinson. Boro brought on Matt Crooks, Duncan Watmore, Matthew Hoppe and Caolan Boyd-Munce, to replace Dael Fry, Riley McGree, Marcus Forss and Alex Mowatt.

There were bookings for Junior Hoilett, Tom McIntyre, Dean Bouzanis and Mamadou Loum from Reading. For Boro, Isaiah Jones saw yellow.

Reading will next play Millwall away, with Boro facing Swansea City at home.
