QPR 3-2 Middlesbrough: Rangers win five-goal thriller at Loftus Road
Queens Park Rangers’ 3-2 win over Middlesbrough on Saturday, was hard fought at Loftus Road Stadium. QPR were hoping to get something from this game after losing their last match 1-0 to Blackburn Rovers. Boro are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. After today’s result, QPR and Boro currently occupy 8th and 20th spots in the league, with 3 points and 1 point respectively after 2 matches.
QPR started the first half well, with a goal from Chris Willock at the 13 minute mark. The momentum was now with Rangers, who then scored again through a goal from Rob Dickie at the 27 minute mark to establish a 2-0. QPR looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Lyndon Dykes, 38 minutes in to establish a 3-0. However, Boro hit back though just before halftime, with a goal from Matt Crooks. The score at half time was 3-1.
The Boro took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Marcus Forss, 56 minutes in. The final result, QPR 3, Boro 2.
Substitutions for QPR included Albert Adomah, Andre Dozzell, Macauley Bonne and Niko Hamalainen for Chris Willock, Stefan Johansen, Lyndon Dykes and Ilias Chair, repectively. Boro brought on Chuba Akpom, Paddy McNair and Tommy Smith, to replace Duncan Watmore, Anfernee Dijksteel and Marcus Forss.
The referee booked Stefan Johansen and Osman Kakay from QPR. Boro had the worst of it though, with Marcus Forss and Marc Bola seeing yellow, and Darragh Lenihan then sent off with a red.
QPR will next travel to Sunderland AFC, while Boro will face Sheffield United at home.
