North End 0-0 Watford: Lilywhites hold Watford at bay at Deepdale

Saturday’s fixture between North End and Watford delivered a goalless draw at Deepdale. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. North End arrived with the intention of increasing their league score following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Rotherham United in their previous game. Watford, on the other hand, had managed to pick up a single point in their matchup with Birmingham City. As it stands, North End are in 9th place in the table and have 7 points while Watford sit in 2nd with 9 points after 5 matches.

Both teams used all available substitutes. Substitutions for North End included Gregory Cunningham, Emil Riis, Ali McCann and Benjamin Woodburn for Andrew Hughes, Daniel Johnson, Ryan Ledson and Alan Browne, repectively, Watford brought on Dan Gosling and Joseph Hungbo, to replace Yaser Asprilla and Rey Manaj.

There were bookings for Robbie Brady and Gregory Cunningham from North End. For Watford, Rey Manaj and Craig Cathcart saw yellow.

North End will next travel to Cardiff City, while Watford will face Queens Park Rangers at home.
