Preston 1-0 Swansea: Potts goal gives Lilywhites the edge over The Swans

Preston North End’s 1-0 win over Swansea City on Tuesday, was hard fought at Deepdale. North End were looking to continue their good run after winning last match. Swansea, meanwhile, were struggling for form following a draw in their last match. both teams are now on 28 points and sit in 7th and 6th places respectively after 19 matches.

North End dominated the first half, when Brad Potts gave them the lead, 30 minutes in, to take a 1-0 lead into half time. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Substitutions for North End included Ryan Ledson, Sean Maguire and Benjamin Woodburn for Ben Whiteman, Ched Evans and Emil Riis, respectively. Swansea brought on Armstrong Oko-Flex, Jamie Paterson, Michael Obafemi and Oliver Cooper, to replace Kyle Naughton, Olivier Ntcham, Luke Cundle and Jay Fulton.

There were bookings for Ryan Ledson, Jordan Storey, Alan Browne and Ali McCann from North End, and Ben Cabango, Matt Grimes and Armstrong Oko-Flex, for Swansea.

North End will next travel to Reading, while Swansea will face Wigan Athletic at home.
