Hull City, on the other hand, were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-1 win against Bristol City in their last match. As it stands, North End and Hull City currently occupy 16th and 5th spots in the league, with 2 points and 4 points respectively after 2 matches.

North End brought on Alvaro Fernandez and Benjamin Woodburn for Brad Potts and Daniel Johnson. Hull City brought on Vaughn Covil, Callum Elder, Andy Cannon and Randell Williams, to replace Oscar Estupinan, Benjamin Tetteh, Ozan Tufan and Jean Seri.
