On Tuesday, North End and Burnley played out a 1-1 draw at Deepdale. North End were looking forward to playing again after losing 1-0 to Birmingham City in their previous fixture. Burnley, meanwhile, had secured a point against West Bromwich Albion in their previous match. North End and Burnley currently occupy 9th and 5th spots in the table, with 12 points and 14 points respectively after 10 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Burnley, with a goal from Taylor Harwood-Bellis in the 10th minute. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Jordan Storey equalised for North End in the 15th minute, which brought Ryan Lowe’s squad level at 1-1 at the half time break With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the match ended 1-1.

Substitutions for North End included Ryan Ledson, Andrew Hughes, Alvaro Fernandez, Alan Browne and Ched Evans for Ali McCann, Gregory Cunningham, Robbie Brady, Troy Parrott and Daniel Johnson, respectively. Burnley brought on Louis Beyer, Anass Zaroury and Ian Maatsen, to replace Charlie Taylor, Nathan Tella and Manuel Benson.

The referee booked Ali McCann and Troy Parrott for North End.

North End next face Sheffield United while Burnley are at home to Bristol City.
