Peterborough United 2 – Stoke 2: Home advantage cancelled out by visitors

On Saturday, Peterborough United and Stoke were held to a 2-2 draw at Abax Stadium. Both Peterborough United and Stoke came from defeats in their previous league games. Peterborough United were looking to get back their winning ways after losing their last game 3-0 to Huddersfield Town. Stoke lost 1-0 in the last match they played against Blackpool. As it stands, Peterborough United and Stoke are 24th, (23 points) and 15th, (46 points), in the league respectively, after 37 matches.

Stoke started strongly in the first half, with Jacob Brown finding the net at the 28 minute mark. However, their lead was short lived, as Jonson Clarke-Harris equalised for Peterborough United in the 33rd minute. The score at half time was 1-1.

The Potters took the initiative in the second half, thanks to a goal from Lewis Baker at the 84 minute mark. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Jonson Clarke-Harris equalised for Peterborough United just before the final whistle. The final result, Peterborough United 2, Stoke 2.

Peterborough United brought on Ricky Jade-Jones, Bali Mumba and Joe Taylor for Jack Marriott, Harrison Burrows and Jack Taylor. Stoke brought on Josh Maja, Ben Wilmot and Tyrese Campbell, to replace Demeaco Duhaney, Phil Jagielka and Jordan Thompson.

There were bookings for Jonson Clarke-Harris from Peterborough United. For Stoke, Joe Allen and Steven Fletcher saw yellow.

Peterborough United will play their next fixture at home against Swansea City, while Stoke will face Cardiff City away.
