Norwich 1-1 Wigan: The Canaries denied as Latics take a point at Carrow Road

On Saturday, Norwich and Wigan Athletic were held to a 1-1 draw at Carrow Road. Norwich were looking to get back their winning ways after losing their last match 1-0 to Cardiff City. Wigan Athletic secured a point against Preston North End in their previous match. As the table looks today, Norwich and Wigan Athletic currently occupy 18th and 9th spots in the table, with 1 point and 2 points respectively after 2 matches.

Wigan Athletic started strongly in the first half, when James McClean found the net, 29 minutes in to see out the first half 1-0.

Norwich took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Max Aarons, 62 minutes in, leaving the final score at 1-1.

Substitutions for Norwich included Onel Hernandez, Sam McCallum, Danel Sinani, Josh Sargent and Gabriel for Jakob Lungi Sorensen, Dimitris Giannoulis, Marcelino Nunez, Milot Rashica and Max Aarons, repectively. Wigan Athletic brought on Stephen Humphrys, Ryan Nyambe, Thelo Aasgaard and Graeme Shinnie, to replace Josh Magennis, Will Keane, Joe Bennett and Callum Lang.

The referee booked four players from Wigan Athletic, Max Power, Thelo Aasgaard, Ryan Nyambe and Ben Amos.

Norwich will next play Hull City away, with Wigan Athletic facing Bristol City at home.
