Norwich 3-0 Coventry: The Sky Blues sunk as Canaries soar at Carrow Road

Norwich City eased past Coventry City in a 3-0 victory on Saturday at Carrow Road. Norwich were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games in the league. The most recent was against the Birmingham City away (2-1), the other to Sunderland AFC away (1-0) whilst Coventry were beaten 1-0 in their previous match against Preston North End. Norwich are currently 1st with 16 points from 8 matches, while Coventry sit in 24th, with 1 point from 8.

The Canaries didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, when Teemu Pukki opened the rout after 14 minutes. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a goal from Josh Sargent just before half-time, ending the first half 2-0.

Norwich continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, with a goal from Kieran Dowell on the 81 minute mark, leaving the final score at 3-0.

Substitutions for Norwich included Gabriel, Kieran Dowell, Onel Hernandez, Danel Sinani and Jordan Hugill for Teemu Pukki, Aaron Ramsey, Sam Byram, Todd Cantwell and Josh Sargent, respectively. Coventry brought on Viktor Gyokeres, Matt Godden, Fabio Tavares and Jonathan Panzo, to replace Kasey Palmer, Michael Rose, Tyler Walker and Callum Doyle.

The referee booked Sam Byram for Norwich.

Norwich will next travel to Burnley, while Coventry will face West Bromwich Albion at home.
