On Wednesday, Bristol City suffered an away defeat to Norwich City at Carrow Road. Both Norwich and Bristol arrived fresh from some positive results. Norwich were keen to hang onto their position at the top of the table and extend their winning run after winning their previous two games in the league. The most recent was against the Coventry City at home (3-0), the other to Birmingham City away (2-1). Bristol came from back-to-back wins against Blackburn Rovers and Huddersfield Town. Norwich are currently 2nd with 19 points from 10 matches, while Bristol sit in 6th, with 14 points from 10.

The Canaries started the first half well, when Teemu Pukki gave them the lead on the 11 minute mark. Norwich looked to have the match under control when they scored again to grab the advantage, thanks to a 2nd effort from Teemu Pukki, at 23 minutes to establish a 2-0. However, Bristol pull-back following a Tommy Conway goal just before half-time, ending the first half 2-1.

Norwich continued to pile on the pressure in the second half and were rewarded, with a goal from Josh Sargent in the 65th minute. The Robins in turn, then responded, 77 minutes in, grabbing the lead with an effort from Antoine Semenyo, seing the match finish 3-2.

Substitutions for Norwich included Onel Hernandez, Gabriel and Danel Sinani for Todd Cantwell, Aaron Ramsey and Teemu Pukki, respectively. Bristol brought on Antoine Semenyo and Joe Williams, to replace Mark Sykes and Tommy Conway.
