Blackburn Rovers enjoyed an away victory against Boro at the Riverside Stadium on Saturday. Boro were looking to get back to winning ways after losing their last match 2-0 to Millwall. Boro and Blackburn currently occupy 22nd and 5th spots in the table, with 13 points and 24 points respectively after 15 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Blackburn, with an early calamitous own goal from Darragh Lenihan in the 4th minute. The momentum was again with Rovers, who then scored again courtesy of a goal from Sam Gallagher, 17 minutes in to establish a 2-0 result. Boro in turn, then responded just before half-time, grabbing the lead with an effort from Duncan Watmore, finishing the first half 2-1. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 2-1 at full time.

Substitutions for Boro included Isaiah Jones, Marcus Forss, Marc Bola, Chuba Akpom and Riley McGree for Anfernee Dijksteel, Rodrigo Muniz, Ryan Giles, Duncan Watmore and Hayden Hackney, respectively.
