Luton 1-1 Sunderland: Black Cats recover for a point at Kenilworth Road

On Saturday, Luton and Sunderland AFC played out a 1-1 draw at Kenilworth Road. Both teams came from defeats in their previous league games. Luton were looking forward to playing again after losing their last match 4-0 to Watford, while Sunderland AFC lost 4-2 in their against Burnley. Luton are now in 9th place on the table and have 25 points while Sunderland AFC sit in 16th with 21 points after 18 matches.

Luton started the first half well, when Carlton Morris found the net just before half-time

Sunderland AFC took the lead in the second half, when Elliot Embleton found the net in the 78th minute, to level the score at 1-1.

Substitutions for Luton included Luke Freeman, Harry Cornick, Ruddock Pelly, Sonny Bradley and Cameron Jerome for Henri Lansbury, Alfie Doughty, Carlton Morris, Allan Campbell and Elijah Adebayo, respectively. Sunderland AFC replaced Leon Dajaku, Dan Neill, Alex Pritchard and Corry Evans for Patrick Roberts, Elliot Embleton, Edouard Michut and Ellis Reco Simms.

There were bookings for Alfie Doughty and Amari Bell from Luton. For Sunderland AFC, Corry Evans, Dennis Cirkin and Jack Clarke saw yellow.

Luton will next play Reading at home, with Sunderland AFC facing Huddersfield Town away.
