Luton 3-1 QPR: The Hatters extend unbeaten form with strong home win
Luton enjoyed a home victory against Queens Park Rangers at Kenilworth Road on Saturday. Luton were aiming to improve their league standing following a disappointing 0-0 draw with West Bromwich Albion in their previous game. QPR were coming from consecutive wins against Reading and Sheffield United. Luton are now in 6th place, with 21 points from 15 matches, while QPR sit in 3rd, with 24 points from 15.
The Hatters started strongly in the first half, when Elijah Adebayo gave them the lead, 18 minutes in to secure a 1-0 win.
Luton continued to pile on the pressure in the second half and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Jimmy Dunne on the 77 minute mark. However, Rangers refused to lie down and managed to pull back a goal from Ethan Horvath on the 90 minute mark. In the end though, Luton increased their advantage via a Luke Freeman goal just before the full time, seing the match finish 3-1.
Luton brought on Harry Cornick, Luke Freeman and Cameron Jerome for Carlton Morris, Henri Lansbury and Elijah Adebayo. QPR brought on Osman Kakay, Stefan Johansen and Rob Dickie, to replace Leon Balogun, Luke Amos and Sam Field.
The referee booked Jordan Clark and Henri Lansbury for Luton.
Luton will next play Norwich City away, with QPR facing Cardiff City at home.
