Luton 1 – Forest 0: Narrow victory for The Hatters at home to Red dogs

Luton Town beats Nottingham Forest 1-0 on Friday at Kenilworth Road. Luton were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Huddersfield Town whilst Forest were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Birmingham City and Coventry City. As things stand, Luton are in 4th place on the table and has 68 points while Forest sit in 5th with 67 points after 42 matches.

The Hatters started the first half well, with Kal Naismith finding the net, 37 minutes in. The score at half time was 1-0. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 1-0.

Both coaches used all available substitutions. For Luton, Danny Hylton, Peter Kioso and Tom Lockyer, came on for Harry Cornick, Robert Snodgrass and Elijah Adebayo, Forest brought on Philip Zinckernagel, Sam Surridge and Joe Lolley to replace Scott McKenna, Lewis Grabban and Jack Colback.

The referee booked Sonny Bradley, Kal Naismith, Fred Onyedinma, Allan Campbell, Reece Burke, James Shea and Elijah Adebayo from Luton and Sonny Bradley (2 yellow cards) went off with a red card, while Forest’s James Garner, Keinan Davis, Joe Worrall and Tobias Figueiredo also received a yellow.

Luton will next play Cardiff City away, with Forest facing West Bromwich Albion at home.
