Luton 2 – Millwall 2: Victory elusive at Kenilworth Road for both sides

Luton were held to 2-2 draw by Millwall down on Saturday at Kenilworth Road. Luton were looking to continue their run after winning their previous two matches in the competition. The most recent was against the Hull City away (3-1), the other to Preston North End at home (4-0) whilst Millwall were beaten 2-0 in the previous match against Stoke City. As it stands, Luton and Millwall currently occupy 4th and 10th spots in the table, with 64 points and 58 points respectively after 40 matches.
Millwall started strongly in the first half, with Tom Bradshaw finding the net, at 25 minutes. However, their lead was short lived, as Elijah Adebayo equalised for The Hatters at the 33 minute mark, finalising the first half 1-1.
The Lions fought back the second half, thanks to a goal from Benik Afobe in the 81st minute. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Jake Cooper equalised for Luton just before the final whistle. The game ended wih a 2-2 draw.
For Luton, Fred Onyedinma, Robert Snodgrass and Cameron Jerome, came on for Harry Cornick, Ruddock Pelly and Dan Potts. Millwall brought on Oliver Burke and Maikel Kieftenbeld, to replace Tom Bradshaw and Murray Wallace.
Luton will next travel to Huddersfield Town, while Millwall will face Barnsley at home.
