Luton 2-2 Coventry: The Hatters fail to win despite Morris brace

On Wednesday, Luton and Coventry played out a 2-2 draw at Kenilworth Road. Both Luton and Coventry arrived at the match with previous defeats in the league. Luton arrived at the match looking to pick up more points after losing their last match 2-1 to Wigan Athletic whilst Coventry were beaten 3-0 in their previous match against Norwich City. Luton and Coventry are 17th, (10 points) and 24th, (2 points), spots respectively, after 10 matches.

The first half of the match started favourably for Luton, with an early goal from Carlton Morris in the 4th minute. However, they were unable to maintain their lead, Viktor Gyokeres managing to equalize, at 11 minutes 1-1. However, The Hatters found the back of the net following another Carlton Morris goal, 15 minutes in, finishing the first half 2-1.

Coventry took the initiative in the second half, with a goal from Gustavo Hamer, at 61 minutes, seing the match finish 2-2.

Substitutions for Luton included Elijah Adebayo, Henri Lansbury and Amari Bell for Harry Cornick, Luke Freeman and Fred Onyedinma, respectively. Coventry brought on Jonathan Panzo for Michael Rose.

There were bookings for Fred Onyedinma and Henri Lansbury from Luton, and Ben Sheaf, for Coventry.

Luton will play at home against Blackburn Rovers, while Coventry will face Birmingham City away.
