Huddersfield 2-2 West Brom: The Terriers unable to break dead-lock with The Baggies

On Saturday, Huddersfield and West Brom were held to a 2-2 draw at John Smith’s Stadium. Huddersfield were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Norwich City. West Brom, on the other hand, were looking to extend their winning run after a 5-2 victory against Hull City. As the table looks today, Huddersfield are in 23rd place in the table and have 4 points while West Brom sit in 13th with 7 points after 6 matches.

The Terriers started the match well, thanks to a goal from Faustino Anjorin, 11 minutes in. The momentum was now with Huddersfield, who then scored again through a second effort from Faustino Anjorin at the 30 minute mark to establish a 2-0. The Baggies in turn, then responded at the 37 minute mark increasing their lead with an effort from Jed Wallace. The score at half time was 2-1.

West Brom took the lead in the second half, when Jed Wallace found the net again in the 57th minute, leaving the final score at 2-2.

Both teams used all available substitutes. Substitutions for Huddersfield included Duane Holmes, Etiene Camara, William Boyle and Jordan Rhodes for Faustino Anjorin, Danny Ward, Rarmani Edmonds-Green and Jonathan Russell, repectively, West Brom brought on Callum Robinson and Taylor Gardner-Hickman, to replace Jayson Molumby and Darnell Furlong.

There were bookings for Jack Rudoni from Huddersfield. For West Brom, Grady Diangana and Semi Ajayi saw yellow.

West Brom and Huddersfield will next play away to Wigan Athletic and Bristol City respectively.
