Blackpool eased past Huddersfield Town in a 1-0 victory on Sunday at John Smith’s Stadium. Both sides arrived at the match with previous defeats in the league. Huddersfield were hoping to get something from this game after losing their last match 2-0 to Bristol City whilst Blackpool had lost their previous match against Blackburn Rovers. Huddersfield are now in 23rd place on the table and have 4 points while Blackpool sit in 11th with 11 points after 8 matches.

Blackpool started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Theodor Corbeanu gave them the lead, at 38 minutes to see out the first half 1-0. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Substitutions for Huddersfield included Josh Ruffels, Patrick Jones, Duane Holmes, Jordan Rhodes and Etiene Camara for Jonathan Hogg, Kaine Kesler Hayden, Faustino Anjorin, Danny Ward and Jonathan Russell, respectively. Blackpool brought on James Husband, Shayne Lavery and CJ Hamilton, to replace Rhys Williams, Ian Poveda and Theodor Corbeanu.

The referee booked Callum Connolly, Rhys Williams and Jerry Yates for Blackpool.

Huddersfield will next travel to Queens Park Rangers, while Blackpool will face Middlesbrough at home.
