Fulham 2 – Peterborough United 1: Visitors unable to get win at Craven Cottage

Fulham snatched all three points from Peterborough United in a 2-1 victory on Wednesday, at Craven Cottage. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Fulham were looking to get back their winning ways after losing their last game 2-1 to Huddersfield Town. Peterborough United lost 1-0 in the last match they played against Derby County. As things stand, Fulham are in 1st place, with 67 points from 34 matches, while Peterborough United sit in 23rd, with 21 points from 34.

The Cottagers scored first, thanks to Aleksandar Mitrovic finding the net after 29 minutes, finishing the first half 1-0.

Fulham continued to pile on the pressure in the second, with Aleksandar Mitrovic finding the net again at the 62 minute mark. In the end though, Peterborough United just before the final whistle hit back though following a Jack Marriott goal. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 2-1 to Fulham.

Both managers used the full entitlement. For Fulham, Ivan Cavaleiro, Harry Wilson and Joshua Onomah, came on for Neeskens Kebano, Harrison Reed and Bobby Reid, Peterborough United brought on Jack Marriott, Callum Morton and Ricky Jade-Jones to replace Jonson Clarke-Harris, Reece Brown and Sammie Szmodics.

The referee booked one player from Peterborough United, Josh Knight.

Fulham will next travel to Cardiff City, while Peterborough United will face Hull City at home.
