Derby 1 – Coventry 1: Honours even at Pride Park Stadium

On Saturday, Derby and Coventry were held to a 1-1 draw at Pride Park Stadium. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Derby were looking forward to meeting again, following a previous defeat to Blackburn Rovers. Coventry, on the other hand, lost 2-0 in the last match they played against Hull City. As things stand, Derby and Coventry are 23rd, (25 points) and 11th, (55 points), in the league respectively, after 39 matches.
Coventry started the first half well, with Matt Godden finding the net, 28 minutes in, ending the first half 0-1.
Derby took the lead in the second half, thanks to Tom Lawrence finding the net, 67 minutes in, leaving the final score at 1-1.
Derby brought on Luke Plange, Festy Ebosele and Louie Sibley for Liam Francis Thompson, Eiran Joe Cashin and Ravel Morrison. Coventry brought on Ian Maatsen, Viktor Gyokeres and Martyn Waghorn, to replace Jake Clarke-Salter, Jordan Shipley and Callum O`Hare.
There were bookings for Nathan Byrne from Derby. For Coventry, Jake Bidwell, Fankaty Dabo and Gustavo Hamer saw yellow.
Derby next face Preston North End and Coventry are at home to Blackburn Rovers.
