Coventry 1-2 Blackpool: Tangerines strike up another success

Blackpool eased past Coventry City in a 2-1 victory on Saturday at Coventry Building Society Arena. Both sides arrived on the back of wins. Coventry were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games against Stoke City away and Sheffield United at home, by 2-0 and 1-0 respectively. Blackpool were able to continue their winning streak after a 4-2 win against Preston North End in their last match. Coventry are now in 22nd place on the table and have 17 points while Blackpool sit in 15th with 22 points after 18 matches.

Blackpool started the second half with an intensified spirit, when Gary Madine found the net on the 53 minute mark. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a goal from Jerry Yates, at 80 minutes to give a final score of 2-1.

Substitutions for Coventry included Viktor Gyokeres, Jack Burroughs and Tyler Walker for Kasey Palmer, Jake Bidwell and Jamie Allen, respectively.

There were bookings for Ben Sheaf from Coventry, and Kenny Dougall, Jerry Yates and Gary Madine, for Blackpool.

Coventry will next play Blackburn Rovers at home, with Blackpool facing West Bromwich Albion away.
