Coventry 1-0 Blackburn: The Sky Blues sink Rovers in tight contest

Coventry City banked all three points against the Blackburn Rovers in a 1-0 victory on Tuesday, at Coventry Building Society Arena. Coventry were hoping to get something from this game after losing 2-1 to Blackpool in their last match whilst Blackburn were coming from consecutive wins against Hull City and Birmingham City. Coventry are now in 19th place, with 20 points from 19 matches, while Blackburn sit in 2nd, with 33 points from 19.

Coventry dominated the first half, when Jamie Allen found the net just before half-time Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Substitutions for Coventry included Kasey Palmer and Tyler Walker for Gustavo Hamer and Callum O`Hare, respectively. Blackburn brought on George Hirst, Jake Garrett, Tyrhys Dolan, Bradley Dack and Harry Pickering, to replace Jack Vale, Lewis Travis, Adam Wharton, Sammie Szmodics and Scott Wharton.

The referee booked Josh Eccles and Kasey Palmer from Coventry. Blackburn had the worst of it though, with Dominic Hyam, Scott Wharton, Thomas Kaminski and Daniel Ayala seeing yellow, and Jake Garrett then sent off with a red.

Coventry will next travel to Watford, while Blackburn will face Huddersfield Town at home.
