Cardiff 2-3 Hull City: Tigers edge five-goal thriller against Cardiff

Hull City defeated Cardiff City 3-2 on Tuesday at the Cardiff City Stadium. Cardiff had been hopeful of continuing their good run, following a 1-0 victory against Sunderland AFC. Hull City, meanwhile, had secured a point against Millwall in their previous match. both teams are now on 24 points and occupy 17th and 18th places respectively after 9 matches.

Hull City scored first, with an early goal from Dimitris Pelkas in the 4th minute. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Callum Robinson equalised for Cardiff just before half-time, to take a 1-1 lead into half time.

The Bluebirds took the initiative in the second half, when Gavin Whyte found the net, at 62 minutes. However, their lead didn’t last for long, Regan Slater producing an equaliser, 75 minutes in, bringing Hull City level. However they weren’t finished yet and Regan Slater made it 3-2, 77 minutes in to give a final score of 3-2.

Cardiff brought on Gavin Whyte, Mark Thomas Harris and Rubin Colwill for Niels Nkounkou, Romaine Sawyers and Sheyi Ojo. Hull City brought on Ozan Tufan, Dogukan Sinik and Lewie Coyle, to replace Ryan Woods, Dimitris Pelkas and Ryan Longman.

The referee booked one player from Hull City, Dogukan Sinik.

Cardiff next face Sheffield United while Hull City are at home to Reading.
