Cardiff City defeat Derby County 1-0 on Tuesday at the Cardiff City Stadium. Both sides came from defeats in their previous league games. Cardiff arrived at the game looking pick up points, following a previous defeat to Fulham while Derby were beaten 1-0 in the previous match against Luton Town. As things stand, Cardiff are in 18th place, with 39 points from 23 matches, while Derby sit in 23rd, with 21 points from 23.

Both coaches used the full entitlement. For Cardiff, Uche Ikpeazu, Mark Thomas Harris and Alfie Doughty, came on for Jordan Hugill, Isaak Davies and Joel Bagan, Derby replaced Kazim, Malcolm Ebiowei and Louie Sibley with Krystian Bielik, Luke Plange and Jason Knight.
